I created a backpack that can be checked oit of 3 diffrent libraries in my area. They are meant to get younger kids out into the putdoors and learn important outdoor skills, such as how to identify local plants and how to use a map and compass along with how to respect the wildlife around them.

Evan completed his Eagle Scout service project by restoring and installing a secure, weather-resistant pet supply donation box outside the Stoughton Animal Control office. After receiving a professionally constructed metal box donated by the Weymouth Heights Club, he organized its transportation, repainted it, added decals, and led members and adult volunteers from Troop 516 in preparing the site. The team leveled the ground, placed gravel around the installation area, and securely installed the box to create a permanent, accessible location for community donations.

This was necessary because the deck, which was part of an old Eagle Scout project, hadn't been properly maintained. So, I repaired the deck, redid picnic tables, added gravel underneath to help prevent erosion, created a garden bed, stained the deck and tables, and bought umbrellas. I also set up a $500 fund to go toward future restoration work and contributed over $200 to help redo a memorial garden at the school.

My church’s school building had 2 classrooms and a hallway that are used by the city’s special education department that needed a new paint job. The rooms needed to be painted during the fall as they do not have A/C so extreme care had to be taken to not disrupt the classrooms or any of their materials.

Some fire hydrants required painting to stay visible. I conducted a project where I identified the least visible hydrants in the town and painted them. I solicited help from my troop, and fire department.

After spending a significant amount of time in the local state forest that ran through my town, I noticed that there was a lack of dedicated signage and directional markings, which made navigation in the state forest more based on memory than maps. As such, I’m mapped out a 2 mile loop where I was able to implement directional markings in the form of painted blazes and a sign with all of the the distance information as well as a satellite overview of the trail. Access was also added to an area of the state forest that floods frequently due to the existence of beaver dams, done by using paving stones to construct an elevated path through the area.
