About the project
My project was a lacrosse equipment drive for OWLS (Outreach With Lacrosse and Schools), an organization that brings the sport to underprivileged communities throughout Chicago. I ran the drive throughout my spring lacrosse season in my community. Once the drive was completed, the equipment that was collected was repaired, cleaned, and given to the OWLS organization. The organization will then distribute equipment to the hildren in these communities, benefiting the community in numerous ways. These benefits include promoting a safer community by keeping them of the streets and allowing kids to build bonds with others. This also promotes physical activity by making children physically fit and active, keeping them healthy.
Community impact
The project allowed children in underprivileged areas in Chicago to stay physically active in a safe way keeping them off the streets allowing them to build bonds that could last a life time.
