About the project

The Prayer Garden at the First United Methodist Church in Boca Raton was in a state of disrepair. So over the span of 11 work days over the summer, I lead a team of volunteers to improve and upgrade the space. Over the 11 days we put a new coat of primer and paint on the outer wall and areas inside the garden like the railing, fixed the fountain pump to get the fountain working again, built 2 benches to be placed into the garden, plant some new plant and mulch to make the garden look lively again, and clean up bird poop to make the place look nice and clean.

Community impact

Many church members appreciated that the Prayer Garden was upgraded and not only made it inviting to come pray at but also nice to look at from the church committee office.
